Beginner's Creative Weaving Workshop In South Lismore, NSW. April 20th, 2026
Date: Monday April 20th, 2026
Time: 10am - 2pm
Venue: Flourish Art Gallery & Studio, 15 Casino Road, South Lismore. NSW 2480
A playful, freeform introduction to weaving
Curious about weaving but not sure where to start?
This 4-hour workshop is designed for creative beginners - people who want to explore texture and colour in a relaxed, supportive space without worrying about “doing it right.”
This is not traditional, pattern-following weaving.
It’s about creative freedom, experimentation and discovering your own style.
No experience needed.
What You’ll Experience
Over four hours, you’ll:
• Learn the foundational weaving techniques in a simple, approachable way
• Work on a pre-warped loom
• Explore texture, colour and playful design
• Receive individual guidance in a small group setting (maximum 6 participants)
• Create your own woven piece to take home
Why Small Group Matters
With only six participants, there’s plenty of time for personal guidance, questions and creative exploration.
You won’t feel rushed.
You won’t feel overlooked.
You’ll have space to experiment and build confidence.
Workshop Details
Duration: 4 hours
Group Size: Maximum 6 participants
Cost: $120 per person
Includes: Use of weaving equipment, including a pre-warped loom, for the session
What To Bring:
Yarns that you would like to use in your weaving. Think colour and texture.
Scissors.
Dowel or driftwood (approx. 40-50cm long) if you’d like to create a wallhanging from your finished piece. You can also choose to do this later at home.
If you find yourself wanting some extra colour or texture during the workshop, there will be a basket of odds and ends to rummage through.
Wanting more? I’ll also have available small bags of different yarns/fibres for sale.
Is This For You?
This workshop is perfect if:
✓ You’ve been wanting to try something creative
✓ You’re a total beginner
✓ You’re drawn to texture and colour
✓ You want a calm, hands-on experience away from screens
You’ll leave not only with a woven piece, but with the confidence to keep creating.
Spots are limited to 6 and tend to fill quickly.
I’m passionate about helping beginners discover their creativity in a way that feels playful and pressure-free. My workshops are designed to feel welcoming, supportive and inspiring.
