I’m a textile artist living and working on the beautiful North Coast of NSW.

I’ve always been drawn to the simple, tactile pleasure of working with fibre, and my textile practice has grown from a love of hand knitting.

Knitting has taken me to some wonderful places over the years, including workshops in France and conferences in New York. One of my knitted dresses was selected as a finalist in a Vogue Knitting/Rowan yarn design competition and even made it onto the runway — something that was both exciting and a little surreal!

These days I’m mostly focused on weaving, especially on a Japanese Saori loom. I love the freedom of Saori — there are no rules, so each piece just evolves as I go, full of spontaneity, experimentation and happy accidents.

I have a preference for natural fibres, but I’m not too precious about what I weave with. If something has an interesting colour or texture, I’m likely to find a place for it. I’m also an enthusiastic op shopper, and I love coming across unusual yarns and materials that I wouldn’t necessarily find in a traditional yarn shop.

Lately I’ve been turning my handwoven cloth into wearable pieces, creating garments that are both practical and full of character.

For me, it’s all about curiosity, making, and seeing where the process leads — I rarely know how a piece will turn out when I start, and that’s part of the joy.
